Today we continue our examination (begun on January 24th, 2025) of the (heavily-cited) classic 2005 article “Trippin’ Over the Color Line: The Invisibility of Race in Library and Information Studies” by Todd Honma, which appeared in the journal InterActions: UCLA Journal of Education and Information Studies, volume 1 issue 2. This episode considers Honma’s critique of multicultural discourses in librarianship, and his proposal to reconfigure LIS along the lines of ethnic studies.
