“What I’ve Been Reading This Summer” is a time-honored update that colleagues share in various venues with each other. I thought I’d mention some new, not-so-new, and forthcoming books that I’m reading, or want to read, that address various facets of our discussions in HxLibraries--open-mindedness, ideological conformity or nonconformity, habits of mind/intellectual virtues, biases, the media and information ecosystem, workplace interactions about diversity and inclusion (and intellectual freedom in organizations), and strategies for creating more humane workplaces where viewpoint diversity matters.
I’m providing Amazon.com or publishers’ links to these books so that you can at least preview blurbs or synopses about them to determine if you’re interested in getting your own copy, or asking your local library to order one!
